SUMMARY:Global Multistakeholder High Level Conference on Governance of Web 4.0 and Virtual Worlds
DESCRIPTION:The European Commission and the 2025 Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU are organising a Global Multistakeholder High Level Conference on the governance of Web 4.0 and Virtual Worlds\, on 31 March and 1 April 2025. \nThe conference aims at triggering a global discussion on the principles for the global governance of Web 4.0 and virtual worlds feeding into WSIS+20. \nThe event will bring together\, from all over the world\, high-level policymakers\, technologists\, academics\, and community leaders who will collaboratively propose governance models of virtual worlds. It will focus on policy solutions for an ethical\, value-driven shift to Web 4.0. and standardisation issues related to virtual worlds (including internet standards) and its technical management. DESCRIPTION:The DECIDO project‘s final conference promises an insightful day\, starting with a welcome and an overview of the future of policy-making and EU initiatives. Engaging Ignition Talks will cover crucial areas\, from evidence-informed policymaking for carbon neutrality to the role of data in smart cities. Subsequent sessions will focus on the DECIDO project\, addressing challenges\, presenting results\, and sharing stories from the four DECIDO pilots on issues like forest fires\, floods\, power outages\, and wildfires. The conference will also feature a session on bridging innovations and exploitation\, culminating in a discussion with representatives from other EU projects within the DECIDO Horizon Community.
